9/6/12 - The CW is prepping its own take on the DC Comics super hero, Wonder Woman.  Allan Heinberg is attached to write Amazon (working title) an origin story about Wonder Woman's alter ego Diana of Themyscira.  The project will focus on Wonder Woman as a budding hero.  Amazon is in the early stages of development and there is no script order attached to the Warner Bros. 3/4/11 - Cary Elwes will join the cast of the Wonder Woman TV pilot.  He’ll play the CEO of Themyscira Industries, the company owned by Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.  British actress-model Elizabeth Hurley is working out visa issues in order to play villainess Veronica Cale, a recurring character.  And Pedro Pascal has been locked for the character of Ed Indelicato, a police officer who befriends Wonder Woman. Adrianne Palicki stars as the title character.

3/3/11 - Elizabeth Hurley will join David E. Kelley's new NBC pilot Wonder Woman.  "Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman," the British actress wrote on Twitter. "I'll be playing the evil villain. Can't wait."  A rep for Warner. Bros. told Access Hollywood that the actress is expected to play the role, but added that the deal is not yet completely finished.

2/17/11 - David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman TV series has landed its leading lady with Adrienne Palicki.  Known from Friday Night Lights, Palicki has landed the multifaceted role of Diana Prince/Diana Themyscira/Wonder Woman in NBC's pilot.

04/21/08 - Joel Silver told SCI FI Wire that he's now thinking his on-again, off-again Wonder Woman feature film should tell the superhero's origins.   Wonder Woman

"I thought for a while that I didn't want to do a genesis story of Wonder Woman," Silver said in a group interview in Long Beach, Calif., on April 18 while promoting his next film, Speed Racer. "And so the first few drafts I created weren't genesis stories. And I don't know, maybe after I saw Spider-Man or whatever, I thought that it should be a genesis story. And then I had to kind of go back to the drawing board, because I had a version that the studio wanted to make that was not a genesis story."

"I just think it should be a genesis story, and I've got to find a way to tell it," Silver said. "Because whenever I got into the stuff, you know, Paradise Island and stuff, it was kind of goofy. But I've got to find a way to do it where it's effective. I mean, I thought some of the stuff they did in 300 was great. I don't know if I want to make it that way, but, I mean, I think there's a way to do this where the audience is going to accept it. But I've got to figure it out."

Silver described the project as being "tabled for a while now," but added that he is still determined to find a way to make it work. "It's sitting there, and when I figure out a way to do it, I'll do it," he said.

11/02/07 - Joel Silver, who was producing the now-stalled Wonder Woman movie, told reporters that the project has been placed on the back burner in light of another impending superhero film. "They're going to make the Justice League movie, and we're kind of pausing on Wonder Woman now," Silver said. "Let them go ahead and do that picture."

The Amazonian Princess comes to film in 2007, maybe!  Let's hope they don't put the wrong actress in the role.  Please not Sandra Bullock or Xena!  No official site yet but check out these fan sites.
